You ever hear that saying, "when people don’t know what to do, they do nothing at all"?
This is typical, and happens to the best of us. As humans we are masters of deliberation and jacks of inaction. We can sit on something for hours, days, weeks, months, and even years not knowing what to do next.
It’s possible, that the first step could be acknowledging what we’re doing to ourselves in those moments. “Damn, I’m doing that, I don’t know what to do thing again and....I’m doing nothing.”
This "do nothing" attitude that we tolerate in our lives can stunt growth in major ways. Think about it, you should have called that bill collector back but because you don’t know what you’re going to say, you don’t pick up or call back and now you’re being garnished or you missed an opportunity to settle the account. You may have one of the best ideas but because you don’t know what resources are available or the first step to making it happen it sits until it fades. Sound familiar?
That’s no way to live friend. It’s imperative that we do something. It’s how we begin. Google will take the riddle out of almost anything and most people (if you’re willing to open up and ask a question) have experienced similar issues and can at the very least point you in the right direction.
Giving up before even trying is a killer of dreams and enemy of progress. If you take a moment to discover that there are tiny steps that can lead to micro decisions that will result in epic movement toward your goals. You can and will achieve your goals so DO something…anything. It feels a hundred times better than doing nothing at all.
